Cobalto was founded in 2004 by María Cristina Oruña, an engineer turned marketer who was fascinated by the power that customer data, analytics and marketing technology could have in helping companies grow their sales and customer portfolios.
Throughout its history, Cobalto has helped Fortune 500 companies in the insurance, banking, telecommunications and automotive industries with custom consulting initiatives related to direct marketing, CRM and marketing analytics. Initiatives range building customer databases for Toyota, conducting inbound lead generation and conversion programs for companies in different industries, and optimizing inbound and outbound telemarketing channels for customers like T-Mobile and Chubb Insurance.
In 2016, Cobalto became certified in the design of our information security controls, an important step in assuring our customers that our personalized marketing processes are compliant with the standards they require. Learn more about our SOC2 certification here.
To accelerate Cobalto's growth and solidify its position as Puerto Rico's only supplier of data-driven marketing, Cobalto visualized that participating in the Guayacán Venture Accelerator would be an important strategic step. In a process of request and interviews we were able to convince this organization to accept Cobalto to participate in its prestigious program. Cobalto was one of the 6 companies chosen by the GVA, to benefit and grow from their excellent resources and curriculum.
Cobalto is committed to giving back to the community. Every Holiday Season we adopt a charitable cause to support, which have included donating vaccinations to children in Africa, feeding the homeless, bringing joy, gifts and necessities to seniors, abused women and children institutions. We do pro-bono work for causes such as the Association for Puerto Rico Products (Hecho en PR), Women Who Lead and Grupo Guayacán, a group that fosters an entrepreneurship ecosystem in Puerto Rico. We are also members of the Puerto Rico IT Cluster association.
